with a lot of sanding, some wood finish and stain they actually were kind of pretty...

I had a hard time deciding on a final stain. With just the wood finish on them the wood was beautiful, but the Fiddes and Sons Jacobean really made them luscious.

 And once they were back in place, oh my, I really didn't want anyone to ever walk on them again.

Those are the before, sanded and then the after pictures of the treads as I got them done and Roger put them in place. They are so very lovely. Every once in a while I have to shine them up after they've been all scuffed up during the day's labor. Just love them.
